Senior Congress leader A K Antony on Tuesday said the Kashmir situation was like a volcano about to erupt and favoured sending an all-party delegation there to find a political solution to the violence in the valley.
"The Kashmir Valley is like a volcano about to erupt. If a political solution is not found immediately, the country may regret it later," the former Defence Minister said at a book launch function here.
The senior Congress leader said that Pakistan is hell bent on creating trouble in Kashmir.
"The Pakistan army is doing its best to create situations in Kashmir. What needs to be done is to win the confidence of the people of Kashmir. They should feel the people in Delhi are theirs too, but somehow that's not happening and it has to change immediately," the former Union minister said.
He said a few attempts to win the confidence of the people in Kashmir had not worked and it cannot be achieved either by the army or the police.
"The only way out is to have a political dialogue. It's not good to speak on the lines that the Kashmir youth have a terrorist mindset; instead, they should be cajoled and talked to with a lot of patience," Antony added.
