Arvind Kejriwal, convenor of the Aam Admi Party, would start his indefnite fast tomorrow in Delhi in protest against the alleged irregularities in billing of water and electricity in the Capital.

Kejriwal today said he would fast sitting in a house in Sundar Nagri while his party workers would go house to house to spread awareness about the irregularities.

He appealed to people to stop paying their electricity bills, and said that his fast was meant to give them courage to do so.

"If the power is disconnected, you should re-connect it yourself," he said.

He said that the government has been saying that the private power companies have made losses of Rs 20,000 crore and the government would allow them to reclaim their losses through higher bills.

"Every household would end up paying at least Rs 5,000 a month so that the discoms are able to get over their losses," he said.

Only total boycott of the electricity bills by Delhiites would force the Delhi government to take consumers seriously, Kejriwal added.
