PM Modi speaks about 'sabka saath, sabka vikas' in UNGA speech

Modi outlines India's views about the world and calls for a collective fight against terrorism.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday addressed the UN General Assembly in New York, outlining India’s views about the world and calling for a collective fight against terrorism.

"Sabka saath, sabka vikas, sabka vishwas," said Modi, referring to his election promise of working for all Indians. He spoke about his government's work: from its target of India give up single-use plastic to eliminating tuberculosis by 2025.

Modi said terrorism violated the founding principles of the UN, but he didn't name India's arch-rival Pakistan in his speech. 

As many as 112 heads of state, nearly 48 heads of government and more than 30 foreign ministers are in New York to attend the General Debate of the 74th session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA), said media reports earlier.

US comments on Kashmir
