Opposing the Arvind Kejriwal-led government's decision to impose a five-month ban on entry of medium and heavy goods vehicles in Delhi from October, traders' body CAIT on Sunday said the move will hurt business in the national capital by restricting the transportation of goods.

Aam Aadmi Party's Durgesh Pathak on Sunday defeated BJP candidate Rajesh Bhatia by a margin of over 11,000 votes in Rajinder Nagar assembly bypoll here, officials said.
"All 16 rounds of counting have been completed. AAP candidate Durgesh Pathak has defeated his immediate rival Rajesh Bhatia (of BJP) by a margin of over 11,000 votes," Delhi Chief Electoral Officer Ranbir Singh said.

Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari was discharged from a hospital here on Sunday after recovering from COVID-19, authorities said.
Koshyari, 80, was admitted to the private hospital in south Mumbai on Wednesday after testing positive for the infection.

Amid the political crisis in Maharashtra, rebel Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde has called a meeting of MLAs camping with him at a hotel in Assam's Guwahati on Sunday to discuss the strategy ahead.
The political turbulence in Maharashtra was triggered by the faction war in Shiv Sena after Minister Eknath Shinde flew to Surat with some MLAs and then to Guwahati where he claims of having the support of 38 MLAs of the 55 Shiv Sena legislators, which is more than two-thirds of the party's strength in the 288-member Maharashtra Legislative Assembly. It means that they can either leave and form another political party or merge with another without being disqualified from the state assembly.

New Zealand reported 4,429 community cases of Covid-19 on Sunday, the Ministry of Health said in a statement.
The ministry also reported six deaths from Covid-19 on Sunday.
Of the 4,429 community cases of Covid-19, 409 cases were from the largest city Auckland. There were 86 new cases of Covid-19 reported at the New Zealand border on Sunday, according to the ministry.

The World Health Organization said the escalating monkeypox outbreak in more than 50 countries should be closely monitored but does not warrant being declared a global health emergency.
In a statement Saturday, a WHO emergency committee said many aspects of the outbreak were "unusual" and acknowledged that monkeypox which is endemic in some African countries has been neglected for years.
