In a bureaucratic shuffle, Maharashtra Government on Monday promoted 19 IAS officers including three from the Chief Minister's Office (CMO).
While Principal Secretary in CMO A K Jain has been promoted to the rank of Additional Chief Secretary (ACS), Secretary to Chief Minister, Nitin Kareer, as Principal Secretary.
Another IAS officer who is promoted as Principal Secretary is Ashish Kumar Singh, Mantralaya officials said.
Apoorva Chandra, currently Joint Secretary in School Education department under Government of India, has been offered the rank of principal secretary if wishes to shift to Mumbai, they said. Other bureaucrats promoted to the rank of Principal Secretary are Maharashtra Transmission Company (Maha Transco) Managing Director Arvind Singh, Additional Commissioner of Brihanmumbai Municipal corporation (BMC) Rajiv Jalota among others.
