West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday assured Sugato Bose, chief of Presidency University mentor group, of an impartial probe into the April 10 vandalism in the prestigious institute and that there would be no political interference.

"We had demanded an impartial investigation into the unfortunate incident. The chief minister assured me that an impartial probe will be conducted into that incident," Bose said. Presidency University was wracked by violence when miscreants carrying TMC flags ransacked the historic Baker Laboratory and vandalised other departments.
