Modi govt administers pledge for Rashtriya Ekta Diwas
He also flagged off a 'Run for Unity' to mark Sardar Patel's birth anniversary
BS Reporter Prime Minister Narendra Modi today flagged off 'Run for Unity' from Vijay Chowk to mark the the birth anniversary of India's first home minister Sardar Patel. The PM also administered a unity pledge and praised Patel, saying "He is the true architect of Modern India."
Here is the pledge:
"I solemnly pledge that I dedicate myself to preserve the unity, integrity and security of the nation and also strive hard to spread this message among my fellow countrymen. I take this pledge in the spirit of unification of my country which was made possible by the vision and action of Late Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. I also solemnly resolve to make my own contribution to ensure internal security of my country."
