Former Indian cricket team captain M S Dhoni was safely evacuated from a Delhi hotel after fire broke out in its complex on Friday.

The fire had broken out in a store in Dwarka's Welcome hotel complex, where Dhoni was residing along with other Jharkhand team members, ANI reported.

Following the incident, Vijay Hazare Trophy's second semi-final match, to be played between West Bengal and Jharkhand, was postponed for Saturday.

"A fire broke out in the shopping mall, adjacent to the hotel. In keeping with our safety and security guidelines, as a precautionary measure, we evacuated all our guests. There were no casualties recorded at the hotel" said Rishiraj Singh, General manager-Hotel Spokesperson.
