Narada scam: LS ethics panel did not met even once on matter, says CPI(M)

The Narada scam involving bribery charges against some Trinamool Congress MPs was raked up in the Lok Sabha today, with a CPI(M) member lamenting that the Ethics Committee which is probing it has not held a single meeting so far.

"Justice delayed is justice denied", Deputy leader of CPI-M Mohd Salim said during Zero Hour, reminding the House that it was five months back the Ethics Committee had been asked to probe the matter.

BJP veteran L K Advani heads the Ethics Committee of the House. The Narada case was referred to the panel on March 16.

Six Trinamool Congress members including one from the Rajya Sabha were caught on camera in a sting operation carried out by Narada. All of them were seen accepting money from a person in lieu of giving some favour to a fictitious company.

The MPs from the Lok Sabha are Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar, Saugata Roy, Suvendu Adhikari, Prasun Banerjee and Sultan Ahmed. Mukul Roy from the Rajya Sabha is also among them.

Some Trinamool Congress members were seen protesting when Salim raised the issue.
