The civil aviation ministry has denied that an Air India flight was near the Malaysian Airlines Boeing 777, shot down in Ukraine on Thursday.
Media reports on Friday said an Air India flight from Birmingham to Delhi was flying 25 km behind the Malaysian plane. "There was no Air India flight near the ill-fated Malaysian plane at the time of incident," the ministry stated.
