Odisha cops confiscate arms, ammunition from Maoist

Seizures were made based on information provided by three three women Maoists who were arrested during the last week of February

In yet another blow to the Sabhyasachi Panda-led Odisha Maobadi Party, a huge cache of arms and ammunition were seized from a number of dumps in border areas of Kandhamal and Ganjam districts in the last two days.

The seizure included one SLR Rifle, one .303 rifle, one hand-made SBML gun, 162 rounds of ammunition, a tiffin bomb and a walky talky, Gajapati Superintendent of Police C S Meena said.

Also seized were a video camera, 14 pen drives and Maoist literature.

The seizures were made based on information provided by three three women Maoists Nikita, Anita and Sushanti, who were arrested during the last week of February, Meena said.
