In his first visit to Ahmedabad after he stepped down from the top post of the country's banking regulator, Raghuram Rajan, former governor of the Reserve Bank of India visited the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad campus today as the distinguished service professor of finance, University of Chicago Booth School of Business. 

He delivered a lecture titled “The Global Economy: Opportunities & Challenges” at the institute today. This is the first of the annual IIMA-SRK Lecture Series. Shree Ramkrishna Knowledge Foundation is sponsoring the lecture series with an objective to strengthen collaboration between industry and academia to develop new thought, new ways of looking at things, and to navigate the emerging winds of change. 

The lecture was attended by Govind Dholakia, founder and chairman, Shree Ramkrishna Exports Pvt. Ltd, Shree Ramkrishna Knowledge Foundation; Professor Ashish Nanda, director, IIMA; Professor Rakesh Basant, Dean Alumni & External Relations, IIMA and Rahul Dholakia, Managing Director Shree Ramkrishna Exports Pvt. Ltd., faculty members, alumni batch 1987, other alumni, and students of IIMA.
