Sahara chief Subrata Roy, sent to judicial custody till March 11 by the Supreme Court, ate a single roti with dal as he spent Tuesday night in the Tihar Jail.
Roy has been lodged in barrack no. 4 along with two directors of his company - Ashok Roy Choudhary and Ravi Shankar Dubey.
Jail officials said Wednesday the three were heard talking till late in the night on the legal battle that lies ahead of them.
Roy reached the jail around 8 p.m. Tuesday and was sent for medical examination as part of a normal procedure.
The Supreme Court sent Roy and two others to judicial custody till they present a concrete proposal to return the balance of Rs.19,000 crore they collected from investors through optionally fully convertible debentures.
