A complete shutdown is being observed across Kashmir valley today over the High court's order banning beef.

The shutdown call has been given by Geelani group of Hurriyat Conference and is supported by all separatist leaders.

All shops, business establishments, schools, colleges and government offices are closed and public transport is off from the roads.

In order to maintain peace and tranquillity, the authorities have deployed police and paramilitary jawans in large numbers at vital places.

Meanwhile, authorities have imposed strict restrictions in some areas to stop protests against beef ban.
