A top Lashkar-e-Toiba commander has reportedly been killed in an ongoing encounter with the security forces in the Krank Shivan area in Jammu and Kashmir's Sopore District.

Media reports quoted police sources in the district, as saying that the slained terrorist has been identified as Mahmood Bhai, a Pakistani resident, who has been involved in many subversive activities in the area.

The encounter started yesterday after the army and Special Operation Group of J and K Police cordoned off the area on a specific information about presence of militants.

Further details are awaited.
