83% workers get less than Rs 1,000 as pension

Labour minister Mallikarjun Kharge on Thursday said 83 per cent of workers under Employees’ Pension Scheme (EPS) get less than Rs 1,000 a month. He was replying to a demand that a minimum pension of Rs 3,000 be paid to 5.5 crore workers under EPS in the Rajya Sabha on Thursday.
