Alstom and Ansaldo Spa of Italy have bagged contracts for supplying boilers and turbines for the 250 MW power project of Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation (GMDC). The project, estimated to cost Rs 1,180 crore, will come up in Gujarat's Kutch district.

GMDC managing director V V Rama Subba Rao said Alstom had won the contract as its bid was lower than that of the others, including the public sector Bhel.

The firm has received the NOC from Gujarat Pollution Control board while environmental clearance from the Centre is awaited.

The company has also obtained "In-principal" clearance from CEA and techno-economic clearance is under progress.->
