BHEL has developed an Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS), a modern computerised storage solution. This system totally developed and engineered with in-house expertise of the corporate R&D division of BHEL.

The new system can be modified as per requirements of any type of industry, according to a BHEL press release. The ASRS offers several benefits to users as it has excellent application in warehouses stocking large quantity with variety of material.

It can also eliminate the user problems associated with conventional storage methods like employment of large manpower, laborious and error prone handling of inventory, pilferage etc.
