Against the backdrop of the Mangalore aircrash and several aircraft-related incidents, top officials of the aviation industry will meet here later this week to discuss and recommend a roadmap for aviation safety in India and the region.
The Aeronautical Society of India has organised a two-day workshop on the issue from Friday in association with the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and major aircraft manufacturer, Boeing Airplane Company.
The workshop is likely to be attended among others by Civil Aviation Secretary M Madhavan Nambiar, DGCA chief SNA Zaidi, his Airports Authority of India counterpart V P Aggarwal and Delhi International Airport Chairman G M Rao.
Delegates from airlines, airport operators, aircraft manufacturers, safety organizations and air traffic control service providers from India and abroad will also participate.
Based on the outcome of the workshop, a roadmap will be drawn for implementation in the South Asia region on short and medium term basis for enhancement in safety of aircraft operations, the Society said.
