The CM on Tuesday flew to Garud in the hilly Bageshwar district where he laid foundation stones of five new projects worth Rs 27.09 crore, an official statement said. These projects include roads and buildings in Garud. Bahuguna, on Monday laid the foundation stone and inaugurated 21 projects worth Rs 71.88 crore at Lohaghaat and Chapawat areas in Champawat district. These projects have been inaugurated by him include the road from Degree College Lohaghaat to Gangnola Pokhri worth Rs 4.45 crore, government Inter College Pula Hindola Bhawan worth Rs 99.71 lakh and construction of state allopathic hospital worth Rs 60.65 lakh.
Addressing the gatherings, the CM said that that the government is committed for the overall development of the state. Stating that his government was mitigating the sufferings of disaster affected people, he said the government is also working on making long term development plans for them.
He said that a rehabilitation and reconstruction programs are being planned for the state by the planning commission. All the development works in the state will be done keeping environment in mind and a high-powered committee has been set up for the purpose.
On Saturday, the CM also inaugurated and laid the foundation stones of several projects in Jaspur area that are being constructed with a total budget of Rs 67.84 crore. The projects include upgrading the wires and meters in the power sector at a cost of Rs six crore, construction of tehsil building by PWD at a cost of Rs 4.41 crore, construction of a bridge connecting Shyamnagar and Dhadi at a cost of Rs 4.43 crore, construction of Lakshmipur Kheda bridge at a cost of Rs 1.28 crore and construction of seven roads costing Rs 2.11 crore.
