The Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) has issued an alert on a possible terror strike at airports in the country, informed sources said today.

"BCAS has issued an alert warning of a possible terror strike at Indian airports," a source told PTI here.

The apex aviation security agency issued the alert on June 14.

An official spokesperson said that vigil is being maintained at all airports though no "fresh" alert has been issued.

Airlines and airport operators across the country have been asked to be on maximum alert, the sources said without disclosing details.

Security at the city airport, one of the busiest in the country, has been stepped up following the alert.
