BJP urges WB Governor to mediate between Tatas and state govt
The BJP on Monday asked West Bengal Governor M K Narayanan to mediate and request both the state government and the Tatas for an early out of court settlement on the Singur land issue.
In a memorandum to the Governor, a BJP delegation headed by state president Rahul Sinha said though his party welcomed Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's decision to return land to unwilling farmers at Singur, it was 'disgraceful' that without cancelling the lease, she promulgated an ordinance which was legally 'questionable'.
