Consumer price-based inflation for items used by industrial workers fell to 8.62 per cent in June from 8.72 per cent in May.
Food inflation based on consumer price index for industrial workers (CPI-IW) also dropped to 6.71 per cent in June from 7.61 per cent a month back.
CPI-IW is used for calculating dearness allowance paid by the Union government for its employees. It is also used by other industries to pay DA to their employees.
