The Seventh Central Pay Commission, headed by ex-judge A K Mathur, gave its recommendations to the government on Thursday. It recommends a 23.55 per cent rise in emoluments -including pay, allowances and pension - for serving and retired central government employees. If accepted, the recommendations will cost the government Rs 1,02,000 crore during FY 2016-17.
