Union Government has sought help from IT firms and its industry body National Association of Software and Services Companies (Nasscom) to participate in training more people with digital payments.

The activity is jointly planned by Niti Aayog and Ministries of IT and Telecom in a move to educate as many people on online payments and other cash-less financial transactions.

Nasscom and Nasscom Foundation will carry out the activity through two functions - public events and one-on-one training on online payments and other financial transactions and setting up of Call Centre Help Desks to spread awareness on digital payments.

In a letter, the Government and Nasscom urged the IT companies to participate and form team of volunteers with minimum 100 employees who have abilities to train groups of 10 people on online payments. The in-person training will be designed and conducted by Nasscom Foundation with the help of these representatives of IT firms.

While the two functions will complement each other, relevant materials for in-person trainings can be sourced from the Call Centre Help Desks, the letter noted.
