Nandi Infrastructure Corridor Enterprise Limited (NICE), which is implementing the Bangalore Mysore Infrastructure Corridor Project (BMICP) has cleared yet another hurdle in the implementation of the expressway project.

With the Karnataka High Court dismissing the writ petition challenging the acquisition of land in Gottigere village, the company hopes to complete the peripheral road linking Hosur road with Tumkur road. This decision puts an end to the litigation that went on for years to connect the crucial link on the peripheral road.

“We intend to complete the construction of the stretch at the earliest to provide substantial benefit to the citizens of Bangalore and Karnataka,” the company said in a statement.

Pattabhiraman and others had filed the writ petition in the High Court challenging the acquisition of land bearing Survey No. 64/1 of Gottigere village in Bangalore south, which was identified for the expressway project. The court upheld the land acquisition for the implementation of the BMIC project.

“The verdict allows us to build the crucial connection between Bannerghatta Road and Hosur Road and allows commuters to travel from Electronic City, Hosur Road (NH7) to Tumkur Road (NH4),” the company spokesperson said.

This decision of the High Court also allows thousands of interstate trucks, which are travelling between Hosur Road and Tumkur Road to avoid entering into the Bangalore city and can directly travel passing Bannerghatta Road, Kanakapura Road, Mysore Road and Magadi Road, without causing hindrance to the city traffic.
