Inflation At 3.34 Per Cent

The rate of inflation for the week ended December 28 stood at 3.34 per cent as against 1.89 per cent during the corresponding period in 2001 and 1.96 per cent in the first week of January 2002.

The point-to-point price change, measured by wholesale price index (WPI) with 1993-94 base, rose for the second consecutive week 0.12 per cent from 3.22 per cent for the week ended December 21.

The WPI, however, remained firm at the previous week
