The CBI special court on Monday extended the judicial custody of former Karnataka minister and prime accused in the illegal iron ore mining case Gali Janardhan Reddy and Obulapuram Mining Company (OMC) managing director Srinivas Reddy for 14 more days.
Arrested on September 5, both the accused continue to remain in a local jail, except for a week when they were given police custody to CBI for questioning as part of its ongoing investigation into the alleged illegal mining and transport of iron ore involving iron ore leases to OMC in Andhra Pradesh. Meanwhile, the accused have moved a petition before the court to shift them to a special cell in the same jail.
