Kerala chief minister VS Achuthanandan today laid the foundation stone for the first IT/BPO complex in Infopark-Phase II. He also unveiled the masterplan for the project at the function.
According to the plan, the second phase of Infopark Kochi would be developed on 160 acres of land at Kunnathunadu and Puthencuruz villages of Ernakulam district. On completion, the park is expected to provide employment to up to 80,000-90,000 professionals. The Kerala government has already allocated Rs 50 crore towards infrastructure development schemes for the Phase-II of Infopark.
The masterplan undertaken by Cannon Design USA envisages a green IT township on the banks of Kadambrayar river. It will have all state-of-the-art facilities for shopping, a convention centre, a women’s hostel, guest house, and facilities for rest and recreation.
