To bring in more efficiency in the system, the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) today launched an electronic system that would monitor the movement of files and letters across various levels.
The file tracking system (FTS), a web-based multilingual application, would enable officers and employees to maintain a consistent watch over the movement of various important files and receipts at different levels in the process of decision making, the MCA said in a statement.
"A training programme is being started in the Ministry to acquaint the officers and employees of this new system and I hope that the entire file/letter movement system in the ministry will be shifted to FTS within three months," MCA Secretary R Bandyopadhyay said.
This system is based on Central Secretariat Manual of Office Procedure of Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances.
