After floating the concept of organic agriculture policy, Madhya Pradesh Agriculture Minister Ramkrishna has now demanded from the Centre, a separate support price system and a separate body like that of Agricultural & Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (Apeda) for procurement and exports of organically grown commodities.
Kusmaria has written a letter to Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar in this regard. “Apeda is working for marketing and processing of various agri-products, a separate body is needed for agriculture produces grown through organic farming methods,” he said.
He has also said a national level research institute was required to develop the agriculture areas to boost livestock production.
“A national-level cattle research institute is needed so that issues of cow and bovine family could be addressed,” the minister said.
