NPS subscribers reach 7.6 million

The finance ministry on Wednesday said the number of subscribers registered under the National Pension System (NPS) had reached 7.6 million, with total Assets Under Management (AUM) of Rs 68,000 crore. Of this, state governments have 2.3 million subscribers, with AUM of Rs 30,000 crore.

Pension Fund Regulatory Development Authority Chairman Hemant Contractor said the growth came on the back of substantial improvement in the performance of states in the past two-and-a-half years.
