The SLSWCA meeting, chaired by Chief Secretary G C Pati, yesterday approved the investment proposals which would generate direct employment for 1,461 people.
The proposal submitted by Emami Cement to set up one 1.50 MTPA cement grinding unit in Begunia Tahasil of Khurda district with an investment of Rs 401 crore has received in-principle approval subject to compliance of environment, forest regulation and pollution control norms, officials said. Similarly, the proposal of My Home Industries to set up 1.50 MTPA cement grinding unit at Kalinganagar, Jajpur with an investment of Rs 360 crore has also received the approval, subject to similar conditions.
The proposals of Shri Cement Limited for setting up three MTPA cement grinding unit in Odapada Tahasil of Dhenkanal district with investment of Rs 5.3 crore and the proposal of Mahanadi Basin Power Limited to set up 2 X 800 MW coal-based thermal power plant in Sundargarh district with investment of Rs 8,000 crore have also been approved.
Meanwhile, Chief Secretary Pati has directed IPICOL (Industrial Promotion Infrastructure Corporation Limited) to make regular review of the progress of the industry proposals already approved by the state government.
