Rains foiled the celebration of Chhattisgarh's 12th foundation day on Thursday in Naya Raipur-the administrative capital of the state.
The state government had decided to celebrate state's foundation day this year with a bang. For, the event will mark first global meet on november 1 and 2.
BJP President Nitin Gadkari was supposed to inagurate the week-long foundation day function. The inauguration ceremony was to start at 6.30 pm.
Gadkari reached the venue but instead of reaching the stage, walked around the venue for more than an hour. by the time rains lashed forcing people to ran for cover.
