Anna Hazare is yet to win the battle against corruption, but the virtual world has already come up with a game where the social activist hits out and demolishes politicians.
‘Angry Anna’, which has gone live in the last few days, is hosted by an American gaming website called Gamesalad, and is also available on angryanna.com. The game is created by Noida-based application developers called Geek Mentors.
The flash game looks exactly like the extremely popular game Angry Birds —- except, the birds are replaced with miniature caricatures of Hazare, yoga guru Baba Ramdev and RTI activist Arvind Kejriwal. They have to bring down people instead of pigs, who are replaced by politicians. There are other characters that include disgraced Commonwealth games organiser Suresh Kalmadi — they are housed in nests with money bags in them.
‘Angry Anna’ went viral on social networking websites like Twitter and Facebook. “Super awesome game with a very good ending. Play all the levels and try to finish the last one,” said R Hetal. Yet another gamer questions this game on Twitter. “So people who play Angry Anna to show their support, are they following a violent protest?” he asks.
The game has four levels, unlike the seven levels of the original angry birds, and should be cleared to get to the last level. The tag line of the game says, “Some corrupt politicians are stealing our beloved nation's money. Lets wipe them out.”
