It's been almost a month PM Narendra Modi announced Rs 500 and Rs 100 would be illegal. Frustrated by standing in never ending queues in front of ATMs and banks and returning without cash, people across the country are venting out their anger by protesting in street in real world and through socialmedia posts and memes in virtual world.
There is a famous saying by Tamil poet and philosopher Thiruvalluvar 'Idukkan Varungaal Naguga' which means laugh your sorrows away. It looks like Bengaluru residents have taken it to their heart. Some locals performed last rites of cashless ATM in their locality so that its 'soul may rest in peace!'
"After a month there is no point in keeping cashless ATM machines and waiting for it. We removed the artificial life support and its dead now. We are performing the last rites in the traditional way and dispatching the prasad to our honourable PM & FM so that they know the problems public are facing," said a resident.
