Sam Pitroda chosen technical advisor for Odisha

The state government has announced the appointment of noted telecom expert Sam Pitroda as the technical advisor for the state.

Pitroda would be offered the rank of a cabinet minister, stated a release from the chief minister's office. The telecom czar is expected to play a crucial role in scripting the IT success story and launching a roadmap for telecom, IT and ITes (IT enabled services) at a time when the Odisha government is preparing a Vision Document 2036 to mark 100 years of formation of the linguistic state.

Born in Titlagarh in Bolangir district, Pitroda has his roots in Odisha. An internationally acclaimed telecom expert, Pitroda is credited with pioneering the country's telecom revolution.
