The temporary budgets

Finance Minister P Chidambaram will present his first and India's 13th interim Budget on February 17. Though the Constitution does not bar a finance minister from making any big announcements or proposing major changes in taxation during an interim Budget, most finance ministers have refrained from doing so during the 12 interim Budgets India has seen since Independence.
