Close to 40 tie-ups have been signed between the visiting Taiwanese business delegation and several Kerala-based industries at the end of a business meet organised by the Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation (KSIDC). These are expected to result in an investment of Rs 2,500 crore.

About 38 companies from Taiwan — representing sectors like electronics, manufacturing, automobile components, and hardware — participated in the meet, which included one-to-one sessions.

T Balakrishnan, additional chief secretary (Industries & Commerce), Alkesh Sharma, managing director, KSIDC, and Wen-Chyi Ong, representative in India-Taipei Economic and Cultural Centre, New Delhi lead the B2B discussions.

More than 140 companies in Kerala including Keltron, Industrial Steel Forging Ltd (IFSL), SILK, KEL, TELK, CII Guardian and Nest took part in the one-to-one meetings and discussions.

About 30 sea-food manufacturers from Kerala had visited Taiwan in June this year to participate in the Taipei Food Exhibition. KSIDC organised the event in association with the Taipei Economic and Cultural Centre, New Delhi.
