Uttarakhand is mulling a new proposal to construct an expressway along the upper Ganga canal from Delhi to Haridwar after Uttar Pradesh decided to scrap the proposed Hindon expressway. “We are studying the new proposal by Uttar Pradesh to construct the expressway along the upper Ganga canal,” said Uttarakhand Chief Secretary Indu Kumar Pande. Pande said the new upper Ganga canal expressway proposal came after Uttar Pradesh scrapped the Hindon proposal after studying the technical feasibility and financial viability of the proposed eight-lane expressway between New Delhi and Dehra Dun. The expressway was to link Delhi with Dehra Dun via Saharanpur.
