Uttar Pradesh cabinet today cleared four thermal power projects in the state.
All these plants have 1,320 Mw capacity each, totalling 5,230 Mw. The meeting presided over by Chief Minister Mayawati cleared the proposed plant at Sandila (Hardoi district) to be developed by Torrent Power; Ghazipur by Wellspun Energy Limited; Bilhaur by NTPC; and Khurja unit by THDC.
The state’s share in power generated at these plants stand at 1,188 Mw in Sandila; 1,320 Mw at Ghazipur; 792 Mw plant at Bilhaur; and 560 Mw at Khurja. UP’s share comes to 3,860 or almost 75 per cent of combined capacity.
