DU admissions 2018: Online registrations start today; all you need to know

Candidates have to log on to official website du.ac.in to register themselves for various courses of the Delhi University. Here are all the details you need if you are planning to apply to a DU course

The admission season of the Delhi University has begun, with registration for variousundergraduate courses for the 2018-19 academic year startingon Tuesday, May 15. 

The registrations for postgraduate programmes and post graduate diploma in cyber security and law are to start from May 18, and those for PhD and MPhil programmes from May 20.

From this year, the process of registration has been made completely online. "All eligible applicants are informed that the registration process of all the programmes will be completely online for all categories and quota," the varsity said in a statement.

Here are all the important details for Delhi University's admission process 2018:

1. For under graduate and post graduate courses, admission process will begin on May 15 and May 18 respectively. 

2. For M.Phil and Ph D courses, registration process will begin from May 20.

3. Registration for all categories of students and courses will be online, according to a statement released by the University.

4. The University is likely to continue with its policy of adjustment of marks on pro-rata basis to calculate Best of Four marks of students who have studied subjects that had practical component of more than 30% in Class 12th.

5. Delhi University will conduct 'Open Days' to brief students on the formalities of the admission process and interact with them.

The meeting will be held from May 21 to May 29 except Sunday at the varsity conference centre. They will be conducted in two sessions-- from 10 am to 11.30 am and from 12 noon to 1.30 pm.

6. Students can track latest developments regarding the admission process through the 'Bulletin of Information' tab on the University's official website.

7. The University has taken measures to avoid any technical glitches during the online registration process. "We have opened all tabs and ensuring zero technical glitches," Officer on Special Duty (Admission) Ashutosh Bharadwaj said.

8. Delhi University Students Union (DUSU) president has announced that the union will set up a centre on North Campus to help aspirants in the registration process.
