IBPS Clerk Exam 2018-19: Important Dates, Registration Process

Going by the usual yearly pattern, the online process will start from Aug/Sept 2018 with the prelim taking place in the first week of Dec 2017 i.e. 8th, 9th, 15th and 16th and the Main on Jan 20, 2019

The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) will conduct the IBPS Clerk Exam 2018-19 at two levels; Preliminary and Main. The IBPS conducts these exams every year to recruit the capable candidates for clerical posts in the banks that participate in this recruitment program. Those students who score minimum qualifying marks in the prelim become eligible for the Main exam. Although the Institute is yet to make an announcement regarding online registration for the exams, going by the usual yearly pattern, the online process will start from August/September 2018 with the prelim taking place in the first week of December 2017 i.e. 8^th, 9th, 15^th and 16^th and the Main on January 20, 2019.

Who Can Take Up The Exam?

An IBPS aspirant should meet the following eligibility criteria:

• Age: An applicant must be in between 20 to 28 years of age. The final age parameters for will be shortly announced through the official notification.
• Education: An applicant graduate in any discipline can apply for clerical exam conducted by the IBPS.
• An applicant belonging to reserved category would be provided age relaxation as follows:

Ex-Servicemen	To the extent of service provided by them to Armed Forces+ 3 years additional (Up to 50 Years)

Person affected by 1984 riots	5 years
Regular employees of the Union Carbide Factory, Bhopal retrenched from service (Madhya Pradesh state only)	5 years

Process of Registration:

The registration process will be through online mode only and there will be a single registration for both Preliminary and Main examination, wherever applicable. Candidates will be required to upload the following documents as per the specification given in advertisement.

• Photograph of the Applicant – 20 kb to 50 kb in .jpg file
• Signature of the Applicant – 10 kb to 20 kb in .jpg file
• Thumb impression of the Applicant – 10 kb to 20 kb in .jpg file
• Scanned copy of handwritten declaration as per the format, which will be available in the respective advertisement – 10 kb to 20 kb in .jpg file

Exam Pattern of Preliminary Exam and Main Exam: This is a qualifying exam for the Main Exam. The candidates appearing for Preliminary exam (1 hr) are required to attempt 35 questions of Numerical Ability (35 marks), 30 questions of English Language (30 marks) and 35 questions of Reasoning Ability (35 marks). The Main exam (2 hr) includes 40 questions of English Language (40 marks), 40 questions of Reasoning, 40 questions of General Awareness (40 marks), 40 questions of Quantitative Aptitude (40 marks) and 40 questions of Computer Knowledge (40 marks).

Mock Test: The best way to evaluate your ability to solve and performance is taking Mock Tests conducted by coaching institutes for competitive exams. A Mock test is an examination which serves practice for future exams. Or you can take Mock test by yourself. Never take these tests lightly. One should be doing minimum two to three tests daily. Keep in mind that subjects like Reasoning and Quantitative Aptitude (QA) can be excelled in through time management.
