SBI PO 2017
SBI announced the PO recruitment process early this year. The bank invited applications for 2313 vacancies in February 2017. The registration process started on February 7, 2017, and closed after a month on March 6, 2017.
Candidate should be a graduate in any discipline from a recognised university or any equivalent qualification recognised as such by the Central Government to be eligible for this post.
Phase III selection
In the phase III of SBI PO recruitment, the candidates are scored out of total 50 marks - GE for 20 marks and interview for 30 marks. There are cutoffs in this stage as well. Marks secured in main exam (250 marks) are converted to 75. GD and interview marks (out of 50) are converted to 25. The final merit list is then prepared for a total of 100 marks, completed by appointment of candidates.
The qualifying marks in GE and interview will be as decided by the bank.
Candidates qualifying for GE and interview under OBC category would be required to submit OBC certificate containing the Non Creamy layer clause. Candidates who submit the certificate without the clause and requesting to be interviewed under general category will not be entertained.
Final selection
After completing all three, the final cutoffs are computed. The marks obtained in the preliminary examination will not be added for the final selection and only the marks obtained in main examination, both in objective test and descriptive test, will be added to the marks obtained in GE and interview for preparation of the final merit list. Candidates will have to qualify both in phase II and phase III separately.
Marks secured by the candidates in the written test (out of 250 marks) are converted to out of 75 and marks secured in GE and the interview (out of 50 marks) are converted to out of 25. The final merit list is arrived at after aggregating converted marks of written test and GE and the interview out of 100 for each category. The selection will be made from the top merit ranked candidates in each category.
