Congress nominee from Indore constituency in Madhya Pradesh, Satya Narayan Patel with assets totalling over Rs 69 crore is the richest candidate in the fray for the third phase of Lok Sabha polls to be held in the state on April 24.

An analysis of affidavits filed by various candidates done by Association for Democratic Reforms and Madhya Pradesh Election Watch released at a press conference here today revealed this.

Patel is followed by another Congressman from Ujjain constituency, Prem Chand Guddu who has assets worth over Rs. 53 crore.

Madhya Pradesh Congress President Arun Yadav who is contesting for the second time from Khandwa constituency stands third with assets worth over Rs 31 crore.

Yadav is followed by Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Sushma Swaraj who has total assets worth over Rs 17 crore.

According to the analysis, Congress General Secretary, Digvijay Singh's brother, Laxman Singh who is pitted against Swaraj from Vidisha seat has assets worth over Rs 8 crore.

Former Madhya Pradesh Congress President, Kantilal Bhuri who is contesting once again from the Jhabua constituency has assets worth over Rs 4 crore.

Another crorepati in the race with assets more than Rs 4 crore is Nand Kumar Singh Chouhan of the BJP who had lost in 2009 but is once against fighting against Arun Yadav from Khandwa constituency.
