While addressing an election rally here, the former UP chief minister alleged that BJP was adopting the policy of "divide and rule".
"I have come to know that BJP people visited Muslim areas and said that B R Ambedkar was against Muslims," Mayawati said.

"In reality, Ambedkar instead of Hindutva framed the Constitution on the basis of secularism," she said.
Mayawati said BSP will work as a "balance of power" at the Centre with the support of Muslim, Dalit and Brahmins.
During the speech, she reiterated several times that Muslims should not get "misled".
"As compared to other parties, BSP gave maximum 19 and 22 tickets to Muslims and Brahmins respectively on the basis of population," Mayawati said, while accusing BJP of misleading Dalits in the name of Hindutva.
The BSP chief also warned Dalits that after polls these people (BJP) will not allow them to enter their areas and discriminate on caste basis.
"Aggrieved with all these things, Ambedkar adopted Buddhism along with lakhs of Dalits on October 14, 1970," the BSP chief said.
"BJP, SP and Congress were the biggest enemy of Dalits."
Mayawati also claimed that after coming to power these parties will add other castes in the quota without increasing reservation of SC/ST.
She alleged that during its regime, BJP had "constituted a commission to abolish reservation, which BSP thwarted by launching a nation-wide agitation."
She also alleged that if Narendra Modi becomes Prime Minister, the country will witness communal riots.
She also took on Congress and its vice-president Rahul Gandhi. "If Congress comes to power, it would make its "yuvraj" Rahul Gandhi the PM."
"Congress ruled the country for over 50 years, but took no concrete measure to uplift Dalits, minorities and sarvsamaj," Mayawati said.
