Badal, who was addressing a rally to kick start the campaign of Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) candidate from Faridkot Lok Sabha seat Paramjit Kaur Gulshan, asked the people to elect all the 13 SAD-BJP candidates for the Lok Sabha.
"There has been a strong wave in favour of Narendra Modi. Once Modi is elected as Prime Minister he will ensure double the pace of development in Punjab," he said.
Badal said that there has been a strong wave in favour of Modi and Congress would disappear from the political map of the country after the Lok Sabha elections.
He claimed that the Akali-BJP combine government has done a marvellous job in the state despite "step motherly treatment" by the Congress led UPA government to Punjab.
Badal asked the voters that the time has come when the party would play an important role in setting up NDA rule where Punjab would have its say in the government under the leadership of Modi.
The CM said that Modi had already promised to compensate all the losses Punjab suffered because of discrimination by the Congress-led UPA government.
In Punjab, Akalis have fielded its candidates on ten seats whereas its ally BJP on three. The election for 13 Lok Sabha seats of Punjab will be held on April 30.
