Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi said here today that the Congress was busy inventing abuses, virtually running an industry to target him.

"Sonia madam came and abused me here . Congress dirty-tricks department sits with a dictionary every evening and decides which abuse to hurl at me. When they do not find any abuse then they manufacture it. Sonia madam, the more muck you throw at me the more the lotus will flourish," Modi said at a rally in Kushinagar.

He also took a dig at Sonia saying that Rajiv Gandhi Foundation had tagged Gujarat at number one.

Modi also attacked on the mean-minded politics practices by the Congress against those who appreciated his work. In this regard he brought the example of renowned singer Lata Mangeshkar against whom there was clamour to get her Bharat Ratna back just because she praised him.

"Lata Mangeshkar praised me and a Congress leader demanded that her Bharat Ratna award be taken back. What kind of politics is this? Is there any fault of Lata Mangeshkar? Isn't this a low-level politics?," Modi asked at the rally.

He also termed how the Congress had used each day during its tenure to harass him to make his life miserable.

"There has not been a single day in your ten year rule that you gave up the idea of conspiring against Modi. But even after all of this you could not achieve anything," Modi said.

He also took potshots on those who termed that since the election was long-drawn it was losing its steam of interest among the voters.

"People in AC rooms are tired of the elections but people on the ground are part of its vibrancy despite the heat. The political pundits should see the wave of crowds that debunks their words," Modi remarked.

BJP's prime ministerial candidate also attacked at the Congress MP, RPN Singh for not using his close connection with the Congress' first family to help save the sugarcane farmers.

"Why are sugar mills closed here? What is Netaji doing? Had he thought about farmers and youth then the sugar mills would have been re-started. RPN Singh(MP) is close to Gandhi family yet he can't do anything? Should you forgive such people. Because of floods should the farmers face lot of problem? Had Atal Behari Vajpayee got five more years then the farmers would not have had to face difficulty. Even after ten years have passed, the river linking project has been pushed to the cold storage. Now after the Supreme Court giving a stick to the central Government it has brought the file back," Modi added.
