Accusing Alagari of creating confusion, the DMK said the ousted leader was holding meetings stating that he was talking to his supporters.
Alagiri, who is the son of DMK supremo M K Karunanidhi and the party's former southern zone secretary, said that Modi was a good administrator and that was what made him successful a chief minister. In an interview to Times Now, he said, "I had been to one of his rallies in Vandaloor and I was shocked to see the crowd gathered. Wherever I go there is a buzz about Modi among the youth. If Modi or anyone becomes the Prime Minister, as an MP I will appreciate that person," he added.
Alagiri had been suspended temporarily by DMK in January. The move sparked a chain reaction and Alagiri's supporters were later suspended for putting up controversial posters in Madurai. A series of events following that move led to Alagiri's expulsion from the party.
Alargiri has been nursing a grouse against Stalin for quite a while.
"He came to my bedroom and complained about Stalin using unsavoury words and shouted in anger that Stalin would die in 3-4 months. No father can tolerate such words. But as I am the party leader I tolerated that,” 89-year old Karunanidhi said, while describing the drama that took place in his bedroom on January 24 morning.
Reacting to the allegations, Alagiri had refuted Karunanidhi's charges and said he had only discussed issues faced by the party cadres and expressed their feelings.
