DMK releases manifesto

Says the party wants a secular government at the centre

DMK today released its manifesto for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Some of the key promises in the manifesto include writing off of education and farm loans, reservation in the private sector, statehood for Puducherry and change in the oil and gas pricing policy.

The party also promised creation of 10 lakh jobs.

DMK, which was once part of the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance, said it would focus on organic farming.

DMK's supermo M Karunanidhi said the party's manifesto has "covered" all the sections of the society, including women, children, transgenders, differently-abled, SMEs, students, elderly, fishermen, minorities and others.
 
He said the manifesto is divided into 100 heads and added that the party is striving for a secular government at the centre.
